Bitband and Orca land Danish IPTV deal

Israel based BitBand and Orca Interactive, often seen partnering in IPTV contracts around Europe, have teamed up with the Danish system integrator DigiEyeZ to build an IPTV system for Dansk Bredb’nd.

The services are targeted at Copenhagen with later expansion across Denmark and other parts of Scandinavia, and will offer live TV channels and VOD.

Dansk Bredb’nd will implement Orca’s RiGHTvTM middleware, IPTV applications and Subscriber User Interface SDK, coupled with BitBand’s MaestroTM Content Distribution and Management suite and its Vision 280TM VOD servers.

In addition Dansk Bredb’nd will participate in a beta program for Orca’s Home Media, which lets customer view photographs and listen to music through their television. The system is expected to scale to 100,000 users.

Through fiber-based Metro Ethernet networks, Dansk Bredb’nd delivers 10 to 100 Mbps Internet connections to private households, companies and municipalities throughout Denmark.
